  1. Who is they? Buy what fits your budget. I have a inkjet myself.
  2. Laser gives a better quality print. But laser are SERIOUSLY expensive. I just stick with my good old inkjets. They do the job. : )
  3. laser bcz it is new tech. like that simple TV and plasma.
  4. Inkjet printers themselves are very cheap and good for the average home user. The only time buying a laser printer makes sense is if you print more than 1000 pages per month. Laser printers use toner which is cheaper to manufacture and the toner cartridges hold more than a small inkjet cartridge. Inkjet cartridges hold fluid and you have to put more fluid on paper than toner because the paper soaks up some of it. Toner on the other hand is a very thin layer that sits on top of the paper. An Inkjet cartridge can print about 500 pages with a 5% coverage (your average page with text)...a toner cartridge can print anywhere from 2000 to 7000 pages. The other cost on some laser printers is you have to replace the drum which can cost over $100 after so many pages (we're talking after about 60,000 pages or so). But some toner cartridges have the drum built in so it is replaced every time you change the cartridge. For the average consumer, the printer manufacturers keep the inkjet printer prices low. They don't make much money off of them. They make their money off of the consumables (ie, ink cartridges, special paper, etc.). It's the same notion why Sony sells the PS3 for less than it costs to make them. They make their profit off of the games and such. Laser printer prices have been falling for the past 5 years. You can get a decent color laser printer nowadays for about $400...whereas a few years ago it would cost you about $1300.
  5. Laser printers are usually better. Ink jet printers are usually cheap to buy but expensive to run and the opposite is usually true for laser printers. With ink jet printers, the ink will dry out in about 6 months, hence you will need to buy fresh ink cartridges even if you don't use up all of the ink. With laser printers the toner will not dry out; therefore, you need to buy new toner only when you run out.
  6. Laser!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you like to print pics!!!!!!!
