  1. I have 2 HP printers. Definitely the better one of the two is my HP Photosmart C4240 All In One. I originally bought the HP officejet 4315v All In One, but had 100 year old things I wanted to be able to scan and the 4315v requires things to be run through a roller whereas the C4240 just requires me to lay it on the top and close the cover. I am extremely happy with both, but the C4240 is my first choice. We have an HP Officejet at my job and I really liked its capabilities that allowed me to choose to go the All In One models. They are all good, but you just need to know what you need it for. Had I realized I would need to put the really old things though a roller on the 4315v I could have avoided the extra cost, however the ink is less expensive for it than the C4240 and I use it for all my basic stuff. Just some things for you to consider.
  2. HP will usually have 3 printers priced the same because each printer is targeting a different group. There is the All in One which only has a flatbed scanner on top, Consumer Class printer. There is the All in One business class which will have a flat bed scanner along with a automatic page feeder for multiple scans or faxes. Finally there is the Photo Printer targeting the consumer class that wants nothing more than to print a few pictures and standard documents. learn more about printers here. http://www.thecartridgefamily.net/
  3. Figure out which cartridges they take. Then go over to the cartridge section, find out the price, and capacity (how much ink is in them) Work out the price per ML, the one with the lowest price per ml should be the printer you buy,
  4. Probably to maximize their ink cartridge prices. Do yourself a favor and buy a canon, the quality is the same, buy you will save yourself a lot in ink costs.
