Citizen Printer

how do i install an HP 900 inkjet printer to a windows vista cpu?

i just installed my vista. when i plugged in my printer in the usb port, my vista can't recognize it. i tried shutting it down and on again, still it doesnt show that there is a device detected. thanks for your answers, however, i brought it to a shop and the technician found that there is something wrong with my USB port which is why it cannot detect the printer. eventually, he had everything fixed and was able to install my HP900 printer.

  1. did it come with any sort of installation CD? I don't know if that would help or not, but it's worth a shot.
  2. You gotta use the CD that came with the printer to install the drive . If you cant find it try going to the HP website and go to the support or downloads section and fine your printer and they have the drive on there for you with instructions.. Go Here... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=&product=3204765&rule=45874&
  3. maybe the hp 900 series is abit long in the tooth fo vista or it hasn't the driver in it's printer list? You can use one close to it, which will probably work or if you got the disc install the driver.
  4. After you plug in the printer to the computer, go to the website of the manufacturer, in your case it is http://www.hp.com. Search for the driver name and download it. If you cannot find it on the website, search for it on google.com.
