LASER PRINTERS""has anyone got views about Laser V inkjet printers fo a bit of everyday use. I know they are
more expensive to buy, but what about expense to run, is the general quality any better, and what about reliability. Are they worth the extra cash ? My experience of Inkjet printers is that in general they are tempremental ( cheap ones that is ). I just need a printer for light work, a few documents, and a few snaps enery now and then. thanks

- the printers are fine but the ink expensive, so fill them yourself with a sringe and bottles of ink you will save a fortune!
- Inkjet is just fine. Don't get a cheap one but go for a robust model. If you are considering refills then don't bother, they never match the quality of the originals. Laser are not so good at printing photos.
- I wouldn't go for a colour laser, just for a few snaps, too expensive. Get them printed online and have them posted to you. Get a Laser for Light document work (no colour) and it will look good. If you want spot colour in your documents then go for Inkjet
- Probably like everyone else, if I could afford a Laser and run one, then I would have it! Until that time it's the old humble inkjet which does every job I give it without complaining!
- Laser is better than inkjet period. Do some searches in answers. This question has been asked and answered before.
- The Brother HL-4040CN has a low price; excellent text quality and cost per page (based on Brother's specs) is very good. The high-yield cartridges have a page capacity of 5000 for black and 4000 for each color and cost $93 and $130, respectively. A half-page of black text, therefore, will cost less than 2 cents' worth of toner to print, and a color page (using a small amount of black plus all three colors) will cost less than 12 cents. Standard-capacity cartridges with shorter page lives (and thus higher costs) are also available. Those who know buy laser, those who don't buy inkjet.
