  1. The major differences between inkjet and laser printers is the cost of operation and the print quality. Print quality is obvious. Inkjet printers have come a long way but they still cannot compare to laser print quality. Cost of operation. A typical inkjet printer will cost about .03 to .06 per page to print. A laser printer will cost anywhere from .0003 cents per page to roughly .02 per page depending on the printer and if you are using their high yield cartridge or not. Printer price is also a point to consider with the price of laser printers falling, you can get a decent laser printer for $100.00 to $200.00 dollars. So with that, my suggestion is to buy a laser printer. Cost per page is much lower, print quality is much better and they are usually faster. A nice budget minded laser is the HP Laserjet 1018 or 1020. Prices are around $100.00 to $150.00 for the printer and replacement toner is $47.99 from www.ApexInk.com
