Should I buy an Epson InkJet Printer?
I am just going to answer this, because I am quite frustrated at Epson at this moment in time. If you, by chance, happen to run out of a Cyan ink cartridge, but have the Yellow, Black and Magenta half-full, you will have to replace the Cyan cartridge before the Epson Printers let you print ANYTHING. In my case, a Research Paper, which would only use Black Ink. I tried printing it, I tried the "black ink only" setting; nothing worked. I called Epson Support. They told me that the way the infrastructure inside ALL the Epson printers is designed, it will basically force you to replace an empty cartridge even if you want to print something with the ink you have available/left over. It's more of a little trick for you to keep buying Ink from Epson, because typically, that's how most of their revenue is made. HP Printers, Lexmark, and Brother Printers do not have that kind of internal layout, and therefor, I recommend buying anything BUT an Epson printer. It's worth mentioning I'm a Tech Sales Associate at a local Office Department Store, and sell these pieces of shit to afford tuition. Thank you for hearing me out.

- nice rant >this is for questions>read the community guidelines on ranting
- My Brother printer does the exact same ...It won't print at all if one cartridge is empty ...So I wouldn't just say Epson is the only company which have printers that do this
- there is a very good reason for it and people who try to bypass this destroy their printers. Then they rant about something which is their own fault. Read http://www.ccs-digital.com/inkjetcare.asp If you are going to use a piece of technology, it's a good idea to understand how it works. Or do you rant that there's a plot by car manufacturers to force you to buy oil even though you have gas? Why cant you just keep adding gas and driving and forget about the oil?
- Unfortunately all newer HP, LEXMARK and BRother printers do have the lay out. Epson just pioneered the process. HP, Lexmark and brother (canon too!) are all switching to an individual ink tank system which requires you to have all ink installed and full to print anything.
- All multi ink printers are the same. I have a Canon one and same thing. It is so you do not run the printer into the ground and have to buy a new one when the print head burns out from being used without ink. I would personally never buy an Epson printer either but my reason is they are rubbish printers.
