Toner cartridges (laser printers) and impact on environment?

Does anybody know anything about when they are usually recycled, and sites w/ statistics, what organizations recycle them, etc? Pleez answer ASAP *gives BIG "THANK YOU!" cookie*

1. Generally a toner cartridge is only recycled if it is first use. A toner cartridge will only be recycled if there is a market for a recycled or third part product. Ie. People are buying refilled or remaufacted toner for that machine. Less than 3% of all toner cartridges are actually recycled in north america.
