how to operate this printer?

my motherboard has no parallel port and only a serial port and usb connection? i want to operate a tvs dot matrix, ribbon ink printer in it due to low printing cost.but it has only a parallel data connection. but how to do it, do i must need a separate card for it or there is any adapter to convert serial to parallel or vise versa. which modification suits me and cost less.

1. You can find USB-Parallel adapters cheaply on eBay. That's the easiest and most cost effective solution. Of course, if you're really concerned about cost, Many HP inkjets with extra high capacity cartridges can beat even the cost per print of laser, and certainly any impact printer.
