Connecting an IBM4230 Printer to AS400 via Ethernet?
We have some old IBM 4230 impact printers. They currently connected to our AS400 via a twinax connection. They have a parallel and serial connection. We would like to eliminate the old hubs and connect via Ethernet. Any suggestions?

- You can do this. You need an ethernet to serial converter. The printer plugs into the serial port of the converter; the Ethernet port of the converter plugs into your LAN. You must assign these static LAN IP addresses. Go to B & B electronics web site and look at their serial serviers. There is a link below. The ESP 901 is excellent for a single serial device. I have used these servers for a number of applicaitons where I needed to put a serial device on the LAN. They work very well.
