  1. An impact printer is one where there's physical contact between the print heads and the paper ... sometimes through a ribbon. Such printers are known as dot matrix printers and daisy wheel printers. Non-impact printers are inkjet/bubblejet printers and laser printers, where there is no physical contact between the print heads and the paper. (Inkjet and bubblejet printers heat up, or 'blow' small amounts of ink onto the paper. Laser printers transfer a dry powder, called toner, to the paper.)
  2. hi impact printer is basically a printer in which direct physical contact happens with the printer are called as dot matrix printer in technical way it is called as DMP or dot matrix printer as well in which there are two category 1 is 9 pin and other is 24 pin but still a new printer is manufactured by epson which contains 18 pins there are many manufacturer in india like WEP,EPSON,TVSE,OLIVETTI etc.. and other is non impact printer in which in these category buble-jet, ink-jet, laser and thermal printer will comes in this category. hey its not over there are line matrix printers also which prints lines per minute now we have 1500/1 lines per 1 minuter printer this will also comes under impact printer and the above printer 9and 24 pin speed is counted in cps means (charecter per second) we have 475 cps printer in Tvse and 800cps printer in EPSON thats for now dear ... :-)
