Anyone own a business where they make pins, favors and invitations for baby showers, sweet 16s, weddings etc ?

Does anyone own this kind of business making souvenir's pins and invitations for baby showers, weddings, and sweet 16s? do you need anything besides a business license because i heard you don't because i know of people that have these kinds of businesses what other things do i need besides that i know i need lots of materials a computer and printer a ribbon printer for pins and favors a glue gun to put materials on favors but what else

I don't specifically own a business for all of this. I do photography and have made pins for different events, invitations for all types of things. In general, you need the license to resell and charge tax. As far as the specifics for all the details, it will all depend on how detailed or simple you want all of these things to be. If you don't personally know how to make each of these items to know what you need for each, then I suggest only starting with selling things you specifically know how to make. Practice on making things and then when you are satisfied you can make a quality product and only then, put it out there to be sold. The number one way to hurt your business is to sell items of poor quality. Again, I do photography and word of mouth advertisement is the BEST advertisement. So, if you only remember one thing, treat every item as a presentation of you personally. You will also need to consider how you are going to deliver your finished product to each customer. Shipping, pick up, etc. You want to be sure you are prepared to quickly get what you need to ship the items when your first orders come in. Check out www.badge-a-minit.com, they have some good pin making items. You are also going to need software for the creation of the pins, invitations etc. I use Adobe Photoshop CS.
