Windows XP Pro Font Question?

Always had nice smooth easy to read fonts on my various windows and program screens until I had a power failure. 30 seconds later on boot up all my fonts are whimpy thin - almost dot matrix looking. I recall a font smoothing option box to check somewheres, but I cannot find it. That may not be it either. It must be a windows function as my desktop icons and all windows headers are all thin and hard to read. Even in Excel all the numbers in the cells all have the same thin appearance and they used to be easy to read. What can I do to make my fonts bolder, thicker, more full and legible? Thank you, Tom

  1. Right click on the desktop and hit "Properties". Then click on the "Appearance" tab, followed by the "Effects" button. I believe it's the second checkbox you're looking for.
