- It may be because you have too many things going at once. When you open too many programs your upper memory fills up. This causes your computer to move things out of upper memory to make room for the new. But when you reboot your computer loads it back into upper memory again. This is an over-simplified explanation. I don't know all the proper terms, I just know that my old computer used to have the same problem and that was the cause. It was fixed by taking some things out of the start up menu. But you don't want to start taking things out unless you really know what you're doing.
