How can I choose the best ribbons of the dot matrix printers ( like Epson DFX-5000?

How can I choose the best ribbons of the dot matrix printers ( like Epson DFX-5000 Or Seikosha BP-9000 ) between some kind of them ? I know about original products but I must choose between some samples . How can I test without long time printing ? I must find the best & shortest way to choose .

1. I suggest you replace the printer since it is obsolete. Printers have come way down in cost.
