Can I get a driver update for a Win98 model HP Deskjet printer on XP?

My probelm is that the HP website does not have any drivers available for an older Win98 Deskjet printer (Model - 895Cxi) for use on Windows XP. Do you think I could find user-made drivers for a Win98 printer to run on XP? If so, where should I look? Thank you!

  1. Theres no such thing as a "Win98 model" printer. Just download the XP driver from the HP website: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=59306&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
  2. Your problem is you didnt look hard enough then! http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=59306&lang=en
  3. You might want to try driverguide. They have a large collection of older drivers. You will need to register to download their drivers - it is free. http://www.driverguide.com/
  4. goto www.hp.com downloads and find the drivers for that printer xp should automatically pick it up but instead find the drivers on hp's site and then plug the printer in
  5. XP has all the drivers built in. Just plug the printer in and see what happens.
  6. For the deskjet series hp printers that were around during the days of 98 xp should have the basic print driver built in. Just plug and play. Have you just tried hooking it up and letting it install?
