I Want to buy printer for my computer at my home? Which is better Laser OR Deskjet printer?
I will be using the printer sparingly. Around 60 pages per year. Also can I go in for a printer which has scanner and xerox facility? or is it better to go in for a printer which has only printing facility?

- Go for the inkjet. Laser printers are much faster, but generally cost more. Inkjets also more commonly have integrated scanners and copiers, which are great things to have when you need them.
- Laser printer is the best option in the long run you wont spend as much as you would on replacing the ink on a desk jet. If you get the laser printer make sure it is in a well vented room. Laser printer produce ozone gas.
- Laser Printer is always Better then Inkjet because of running cost/page. (Deskjet too costly)
- if your only looking at 60 pages per yr go with the least expensive unit that fits your needs. a basic color inkjet all in one will run you between $50 and $200 depending on how many features you want. Look at the cost of ink, especially black. Canon is generally alot less than hp for instance. A color laser all in one will start at $200 and go way up from there and the toner is generally more expensive but less per print... cost benefit ratio would point to inkjet in your case personally I look for printers with a NIC / ethernet card in them and then I look at the cost of the ink and the average life of the print cartridge is (aka how many sheets can you print on average before you run out of ink). but you may not need a nic card.
- You need a personal home printer. And you will do not use your printer too much. So in that case a good quality inkjet printer is required because if printer not in use for long days it goes damage your printer head. And the ink will get dry not only inkjet but laser printer also. The drum of the laser printer get moisture and result poor quality print. My suggestion Hp Inkjet printer with the range of Rs: 8000.
- An all in one ink jet as they print better photos and graphics and have scan and copy facilities.
- A laser will be more expensive but an inkjet which isnt used for long periods tends to clog. If you go for an inkjet, you should leave it on all the time. read http://www.ccs-digital.com/inkjetcare.asp If you're looking for a reliable all-in-one inkjet with good quality output, a solid warranty and inexpensive ink, look at the Epson workforce, NX or Artisan series. The best warranty in the industry. For a year, Epson will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one should you need it. You might find the best value direct from epson.com They had the workforce 500 for $60. It is a copier/scanner/printer/fax with auto sheet feeder. I bought one myself. Great machine. If you want to save money, the NX100 was $30 at Target. It's slow and noisy but it gets the job done. It also doesnt have slots for media cards. You can get 11 free cartridges every month which each hold about triple the ink of Epson cartridges. This does not involve joining a club or mail-in rebates or committing to any other offer. - It all depends on what you need the printer for. If your going to be printing in color than stick with a deskjet. The printer will cost less but you'll be paying more in ink as you'll be buying two cartages. If you are only going to be printing in black and white than go with a laserjet. The printer will cost you more but the toner will last longer and wont dry as it's a powder. I have both at work and home and prefer the laserjets to my deskjets. I only use the deskjets if I need to print a report in color.
