Is it possible to connect a HP Deskjet Printer to a Acer laptop?
A friend kindly donated an HP Deskjet F380 Printer/Copier/Scanner to me. However I have an Acer Aspire 3680 laptop and the lead from the Deskjet does not fit into it anywhere. Does anyone know if there is a cable available I could buy to connect the two? Or are they not compatible?? Any help would be appreciated!

- I have an acer laptop & i bought a HP deskjet printer & yes you can use them together. You just need a USB cable if there isnt 1 with the printer. I puchased my USB cable from tesco. Hope this helps xxx
- The printer and the laptop both have USB ports and a standard USB cable should do the trick.
- if you don't have a usb connection, you cannot connect it to your laptop if you have sub connection you will need usb cable,if the printer as and old com connection, then buy a new printer, at around £50. you can buy usb cables very cheaply from any computer shop.
- Yes you can. All you need is the right printer cable. You need a USB cable. Any Computer store will have the USB cable in stock. If your laptop doesn't have a USB port than you will need a USB to Parallel adapter. Best Buy, Future shop, Staples, or a computer repair shop will carry this adapter.
- hi its also about the age of the printer and whether or not you can get the ink carts you could try maplin electronics they have loads of adaptors.
- You need a USB to Parallel adaptor. Available on ebay and Office Depot. Ebay is much cheaper if your not in a hurry,
