Is it true, that inkjet printers print better quality photos than laser color printers?

- Yes.
- yes, it is a matter of the ink and paper. laser is more fine detail, inkjets allow the ink drops to spread.
- absolutely - and that's on plain paper. on glossy photo paper there's no comparison. and because a laser heats the toner and melts it on to the paper, I havent seen any glossy photo paper which would work for a laser. but a laser is faster and sharper on text. each type of printer has advantages and disadvantages. the one you should buy depends upon your needs.
- It depends on a few factors. Assuming you have a great digital picture then you would need a printer with a high degree of DPI's.. A 600X600 dpi printer will not print as good as a 4800X4800 dpi printer, regardless if it is laser or inkjet. In addition laser printers, are a more permanent type of printing than inkjet, because the ink is actually burned on the paper than absorbed in the paper like inkjet printer.
- YES! Year 2004 above affordable desktop printers have developed and achieve 1200dpi ++ resolution. But you need to have it printed in a special paper ( glossy, semigloss, inkjet, etc ). Usually plain paper does not achieve good quality printouts when using inkjets since it cant hold liquid ink very well unlike the powdered laserjet toners. It most of the products available today like Epson Durabright Inks and HP Vivera and Canon Pegment Cartridges developed a better bond to paper which makes it much better than lasers.
