Citizen Printer

What is the best inkjet printer to buy and why?

I live in the UK and have had my canon ip4500 for just over a year and it suddenly doesn't recognise the print head. Re-installing it doesn't work and on further inspection it'll cost more to fix than to purchase another one. I am furious as i've only used one set of inks in it, and they were original canon!!! I am not sure I want another canon but would consider it if that doesn't happen again. I need a printer that can print onto various materials, cd's, card stock, paper stock, transfers etc and that can print photo quality as I am studying photography at university. Please help.

2. Hi Lucky&Ty I find the Epson all in one a very good machine and the inks are much cheaper than any other,and a very good print out of Photos+copy.all the best.
3. I use an EPSON STYLUS the ink is cheap.It takes 4 separate cartridges and they cost £3 per cartridge.The photo's are really good. Before you buy, check out how much the ink cartridges will cost.I use a lot of ink because I do a lot of photo's and find Epson are the best value.
