Rimage Thermal DVD Printer purchase?

I found a Rimage Perfect Image Prism Thermal DVD printer on ebay for $1,000. It is this printer: http://www.supermediastore.com/rimage-prism-plus-stand-alone-dvd-cd-thermal-inkjet-printer.html It is worth almost 4,000. Should I take the risk and buy it for $1000 on ebay, or save my nickels and buy it new for $4,000. Is ebay worth the risk of being scammed or receiving junk? The printer would really help my business.

1. Never buy a used printer. Thermal printers over time can experience a break down in the heating element. They are no longer under warranty and extremely expensive to fix. There are also problems like feed issues. I know it is a tempting deal, but unless you can see it, test it and are satisfied with the results, avoid it.
