how do i install a printer without an cd to install with?

i installed a canon pixma ip2600 inkjet photo printer for my computer. it was erased and i lost the cd to install. can i do it without the cd

1. dowload the software off the main site.
2. You can get the software for your printer directly from the Canon site. Just select your OS: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=357&modelid=16278
3. Go on line to the canon website, click downloads, then enter your printer info...or you can just click the link I attached, it should take you right there. I have had to do this a few times before.
