IT or Networking Question for Business (2 computers side by side for retail)?

I am trying to have 2 side by side computers with POS systems for our retail clothing store. My Question is, how do we link these two together. I don't want to have to run 2 different reports every day for each computer, everything needs to be together. Also, do I need 2 complete systems or can we run everything off one computer and have 2 monitors, printers, scanners, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated! I dont need the net and files shared, just the POS software.

1. im not sure this is a computer networking question..more of a software question they both are going to have to be connected to the same router for starters..and i have no idea how to do the rest.. i had 2 link my quickbooks between 2 computers and that was hell....
