Citizen Printer

Are refill kits for ink cartridges the way to go ?

I have a Lexmark z735 model printer & I use it a lot that I have to buy a new ink cartridge more frequently. Just want to know if this is a good route to save some money ? Thanks.

  1. Throw out the printer and buy one that takes a black cartridge.
  2. It can be if you master the refill process. Alot cheaper, especially for Lexmark Ink. I think Samsclub has a 3 refill kit for like $19.99 when thats the price of a single cartidge if youre lucky. The flip side to that is that if not done properly, the ink could spread out everywhere, and there goes the computer. The flip side to that is that, with the prices ofprinters being comparable to a single ink cartiridge, you can just buy a new printer if you should mess up. All in all, I say unless you have an expensive all in one lexmark, its probably worth a shot to at least try the refill kits. Worst that can happen is you need to buy a newprinter which is only a few bucks more. best that can happen is you get away with paying 19.99 instead of 90 bucks for new cartridges. 2 suggestions. Go laser printer. Best buy usually has this one recurring laser printer sale. If you do alot of text, and no photo or color pritning. its an epson, and its only like 70 bucks. An when the ink goes for that, you have to spend about 70 bucks for the new toner cartridge but its going to yield several thousand pages. All in all a much better investment for ink. AND ==== if you get into the habit of changing the printing output to a lighter draft, or 300x300 resolution, you can double your ink cartridges. I have an HP laserJet from 1998, and believe it or not, I am just on the 2nd toner cartridge. And I do print a modest amount, but I have gotten into the habit of chaning it to draftmode unless I have to submit something. GO HP if you want reliability and quality of product! no one can argue with HP Printers!!!
  3. No!!!! Don't go to buy a refill kit the ink in the kit is "Universal" which means the kits have the 4 ink colors (Magenta,Cyan,Yellow, and Black) and the inks are supposed to be used in every cartridge no matter if its a lexmark, or a hp, or an epson. And the printing quality is less than what you would want, its horrible, and if you aren't careful you might get your carpet all messy with the ink! Instead you should try to find out about this place called Cartridge World, they specialize in ink refilling and refill while you wait for your convenience, just bring in an empty cartridge to your local Cartridge World, and you can save up to 50 percent on your ink or laser/toner cartridges here is the price for your cartridge (lexmark #1) Staples price: $19.99 Cartridge World price: $11.00 Savings: $8.99 or 45%! And the best part is the quality is just as sharp as a New (Original) Cartridge, and you have nothing to lose because Cartridge World offers a 100% garuntee, that if your cartridge doesn't work, you can return it and get your money back! 4. As long as you follow the instructions that come with the ink kit you should have no problems, been doing it myself for several years without a glitch. Take care though the ink is messy stuff so I always fill the cartridges over the sink, just in case ;-)
  5. hi i would suggest you not to go in for refilled cartridges because if one of them leaks then your printer is screwed my friend. If you only print out documents then use a dot matrix printer from epson it will save you a lotta money
