Printing on clear labels with an Epson Printer?

I am attempting to use an Epson DX4400 inkjet printer to print Avery clear labels, but am not getting a print with bold definition. Any idea how to solve the problem - if it can be - or is it a case of altering setting? If the latter, set to what? Thank you.
