What is the coating for inkjet printers? I alway has a lasorjet so I didn't give it much thought but now that I am thinking about an inkjet that is applicable. Apparently inkjet paper is smoother and more expensive. So what is the paper treated with or what is it coated with to make it suitable for inkjet printers?
I have three color inkjet printers that all need ink, which one should I buy the ink for? I have three color inkjet printers: HP Photosmart 8450 Epson Stylus Photo R220 Epson Stylus Photo 1280 I only need one for general household printing - no photos, mostly spreadsheets, graphs, homework, etc. I print only on letter size paper - do not need the size of the 1280. I am just interested in quality efficient printing. Which one of these should I use? Or should I throw them all out and buy a new one?
Do all brands of inkjet printers have a corresponding Resetter software ? After several months of usage, EPSON inkjet printers would give a status message that some part of your printer is near its service life. For some EPSON printer, a resetter software can reset the printer setting. For other printer brands, is there a need for a Resetter software ? If yes, where ( website ) can I download the software ?
Can Inkjet printers print on clear plastic sheets? In the past, I would print on 8.5" x 11" clear plastic sheets (about as thick or a little thicker than paper) using a LasorJet printer and had good results. Except when it was too thin and the heat tended to kind of curl or warp it. Will inkjet printers print on the same material? Or does it have to have some coating?
Are there any good inkjet printers that are good for home and school use purposes? I am looking for a color inkjet printer that is a maximum of $100. Also, I am looking for one that that is cheap on ink, also a one that is efficient on ink. I prefer a printer from Cannon or HP. I do not want a printer that doesn't print if yiy do not have any color ink left, or prints with color even if you choose grayscale(Black and White).
Which inkjet printers DON'T use expiration chips in their cartridges? I have two multifunction HP inkjet printers that work great except that their cartridges have a chip that makes it unusable after the expiration date. I know there are workarounds with this, but I would rather just buy another brand that doesn't have this issue, something like Canon or Epson perhaps. What are your recommendations?

Will Inkjet printers print on blank ID cards? I need to make a good ID card. Clubs will not accept IDs in butterfly pouches because they are not PVC ID cards. Some Epson inkjet printers have a tray for printing on specially coated CDs and DVDs. If the tray was modified to hold a blank ID card, could they print on them?
Do all inkjet printers use stepper motors? I don't know how inkjet printers could work without using stepper motors, but in the printer I just disassembled the motor is a "RS-385SH-14180", here's the manufacturers site: http://www.mabuchi-motor.co.jp/cgi-bin/catalog/e_catalog.cgi?CAT_ID=rs_385sh It doesn't look like a stepper motor? Is it?
Where do you buy your photo paper for inkjet printers? I print my own photos since I like to enhance the digital images then print them. I can easily buy A4 and 4R size photo paper. I could not find pre-cut packs of other sizes of photo papers like 3R, 5R and 8R. Do you know of a store that sells above photo paper sizes ? Thank you for your help. CD-R king is a good source of A4 and 4R size photo paper. Although there are days that they run out of stock. I need a source of 3R, 5R and 8R photo papers.
Glossy paper for inkjet printers, does it still exist? I'm not talking photo paper, that stuff is way too thick for my needs. I'm talking about a 40lb or less paper with a glossy finish, made for inkjet. It seems all brands have been discontinued and now all you can get is photo paper. I did use HP presentation glossy but then they changed the quality and it doesn't work right anymore, it was too thick anyway. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Inkjet printers. Can I use different colored paper with them? I am writing a book but I am not confining it to just one story or style of writing. I just bought a new Brother printer that's an all-in-one kind of thing. printer/copier/scanner/fax/chews gum/does cartwheels, etc... I want to print some chapters with white paper and other chapters on paper that is powder blue. Am I going to run into any technical difficulties because I am using differently colored paper or will it even matter at all? Thanks.
Is this normal for inkjet printers? I just bought HP Deskjet F4480. I think it doesnt look to bad when I print something. But when I make copies, all the letters look just a little bit thicker, therefore making everything look darker and sort of messy. Is that normal for an inkjet printer? Im used to printing from a laser printer in the office but thought I should buy one for home use.
What is the difference between inkjet and lazer printers? I've looked at so many 4-in-1 printers, I've confused myself. Just what is the difference between inkjets and lazers? What are some good inkjet 4 in 1 printers? I'm thinking about replacing my Epson Stylus 820 printer with a 4 in 1 printer. My epson still works but it's lacking a copier and fax. I dunno if i should use laser or inkjet. In fact I dunno the difference. My printer is mainly used for personal stuff like homework. What are some good printers? I want my printer to have the print back-front function too. My epson also is lacking that and i always have to turn the papers over. I'm looking for printers under $300. Which store is the best place to buy it? Circuit city, Frys, Best buy? Staples? I m looking for a printer that wouldnt cause me alot of money on inks
