Know of any impact printers that can handle multiple multi-part forms? I have been asked to locate an impact printer that is capable of printing 6 to 8 different multi-part forms when a client arrives in the office. Is anyone aware of such printers? If so, what has been your experience with them? How much maintenance do they require? I forgot one additional requirement. They want these to be pinfed forms. The printer would need to handle at least 4 pinfed forms, but they are asking for 6 to 8 pinfed multipart forms.
Is there a way to print 3 part forms with out an impact printer? We were using a type writer to type up invoices... Type writer finally broke. We don't have a digital system but would like to use a program like Volutive 2. How do we print the invoices on 3 part forms without an impact printer can it be done on a laser printer and how do you keep the 3 part form together?
Should printers be turned off at night, or left on to reduce wear and tear? I have a friend who leaves his Laserjet print on all night in his home office, primarily because he believes that turning on and off the printer causes wear and tear on the printer's electronic parts. I have to hand it to him -- the thing is ancient (10+ years) and it runs like a charm, but even on standby mode, the printer is using up a lot of energy. I'm looking for hard facts that support either his point (he's an engineer) or mine that today's modern electronics are designed to be turned on/off regularly. I've done a pretty thorough search on why PC's should/shouldn't be turned on/off but have come across little on printers. (BTW, there's also little *research* done on the actual impact of turning on and off PCs).
Which Impact printer is this? I need a Impact printer with emulation of Epson LQ 2550 and IBM Proprinter X24E/XL24E. it should have 84 columns or 136 columns
What is the best way to print black and white digital photographs to get the most impact? I've love black and white photography. However, you never seem to get the same impact from a black and white image that is printed from a digital image using an inkjet printer as you would if you developed the image from traditional black and white film. Does anyone know any good tricks in photoshop or when using an inkjet printer to great great, striking, dramatic digital prints?
How long does it take to print 1 page for each typeface? This is from Page 226, #21 of Fundamentals of Technical Mathematics (2nd edition): An impact printer prints 1 page using regular type and 3 pages using bold type in 23 seconds. If the printer prints 2 pages using regular type and 4 pages using bold type in 34 seconds, how long does it take to print 1 page for each typeface?
An impact printer is..? A. is loud B. has a mechanism somewhat similar to a typewriter C. can use multipart paper D. all of the above
Printed books impact on environment - print your own at home, or buy used copy online.? I'm wondering what has less impact on the environment. If a book is on project gutenburg, is it better to print it on my printer (double sided), or buy a used copy of it from powells/amazon/etc. I would think the delivery of the book would make a big imprint, but then again using the paper to print a fresh copy is wasting paper when there is already a printed version out there. Thoughts?
Connecting an IBM4230 Printer to AS400 via Ethernet? We have some old IBM 4230 impact printers. They currently connected to our AS400 via a twinax connection. They have a parallel and serial connection. We would like to eliminate the old hubs and connect via Ethernet. Any suggestions?

Does my computer docking station need to be connected to phone line? I am moving my home office to a different room. Have a home network so am wireless and can use my laptop anywhere in the house. When working at my desk, I use my docking station. The docking station is currently connected to the phone line with an ethernet connection. Since I am wireless, is it really necessary for the docking station to be connected to the phone line when I change rooms? Does it have any impact on peripherals such as printer or monitor?

fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff? Notes •Expansion Ports- Connect a Peripheral device to an expansion card. •RAM- Random Access Memory •What is RAM? Every time you start your operating system, launch a program, or open a file, the relevant program code and/or data is loaded into a RAM. That’s why you see RAM listed in the system requirements for the software you buy. If you have more RAM, you can open more files or programs at once and load bigger files. •RAM capacity is rated in terms of megabytes and gigabytes. •RAM is not permanent; when the computer is turned off; all information stored in RAM is lost. •ROM- Read only memory •ROM is a storage chip that typically contains hardwired instructions for use when a computer starts (boots up). The instructions—contained in a small program called the BIOS (basic input/output system)—load from ROM and start up the hard disk. •ROM is memory that you cannot erase or write on. •CMOS-Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor •CMOS is a special kind of memory maintained by battery after you turn the computer off. CMOS also maintains the internal clock. Every time you turn on your computer, the BIOS looks in CMOS for the settings you selected and configures your computer accordingly. •Input Hardware- Sends Data to RAM •Keyboard-The most common input device. •Mouse- A small palm sized input device that you move across a flat surface to control the movement of the pointer on a screen. •Trackball- A pointing device like a mouse only with the ball on the top of the device instead of the bottom. You rotate the ball to move the insertion point. •Scanner- A scanner lets you input information already on a piece of paper directly to the PC. •Touchpad- A flat rectangular surface that senses the movement of a finger on its surface to control the movement of the insertion point. •Pen Input- Allows you to use a pen to enter data or select processing options without using a keyboard. •Touch screen- A touch screen allows you to touch areas on the screen to enter data. •Voice Input- Allows you to enter data and issues commands to the computer with spoken words. •Digital Camera- Record photographs in the form of digital data that can be stored on a computer. •Electronic white board- captures anything drawn on a special whiteboard. •Output Hardware-Receives information from RAM and presents it in a readable form such as printed report or color graphics. •Monitor-screen, display, CRT •Printer-produces a printout or hard copy. •2 Categories of Printers •Impact- Prints by striking a linked ribbon against paper. •Non-Impact- Forms characters by other means thank striking a ribbon against paper; prints higher quality text and graphics than an impact printer. •Dot-Matrix Printer •Prints using a series of dots to form the characters. •Inexpensive •Low quality •Noisy •Inkjet Printer- Uses a nozzle that sprays drop of ink onto the page to form characters. •Laser Printer •Works similar to a copying machine by converting data from the computer into a beam of light, forming the images to be printed. •Produces highest quality printouts. •Most expensive; quiet, popular among businesses. •Storage Hardware •Storage- Stores data and programs when they are not being processed. •Also called secondary or auxiliary storage. •3 types: hard disks, floppy disks, and CD/DVD-drives. •Computer process and store data using codes designed expressly for electronic data. One of these codes is the binary number system, which has only two digits: 1 and 0. Anna Taylor
Plzz helpp? who is good with comp or print? its only true or false!!! 1.A large monitor allows users to view less information on the screen at once, but usually is less expensive. 2 Several video standards have been developed to define the resolution, number of colors, and other display properties. 3 with game consoles, the output device often is televison. 4 Inside a CRT, an election beam moves back and forth across the back of the screen causing the dots on the front of the screen to glow, which produces an image on the screen. 5 An LCD monitor produces more heat and uses more power than a CRT monitor. 6 Some users place additional video cards in their system unit. allowing multiple monitors to display output from a single computer simultaneously 7 Ink-jet printers produce text and graphics in both black- and -white and color on a variety of paper trays. 8 Most ink-jet printers have at least two print catridges: one containing black ink and the other containing colors. 9 Many photo printers have bulit in card slot so the printer can print digital photographs directly from a media card. 10 Laser printers for large business users print less than 15ppm(page per minutes) 11. Impact printers are unsuitable for printing multipart forms because they cannot print through layers of paper. 12. To take full advantage of high-end surround sound speaker systems, be sure the sound card in the computer is compatible with the speaker system. 13 In some software applications the computer can speak the contents of a document through voice output. 14 Many computers include fax capability by using fax modem 15 An LCD projector uses tiny mirrors to reflect ligh, which produces crips, brigh colorfuk images that remain in focus and can be seen clearly even in a well-lit-room 16. Visually impaired isers cannot change Windows Vista settings, such as increasing the size or changing the color of text to make the words easier to read, thanx to everyone who will help mee!!!!

Is it true the printing industry is now nationalized? If it's true was that before or after Obama? Is it only in America or everywhere? and does this mean that if you buy your own printer (the big printing ones, like Heidelberg) does that mean the government will have to involve themselves in your business? I've chosen to do this as part of an essay about the government's impact on our lives and would really like to know. (You're not doing my homework for me, just helping me out) =D. Thanks!! I have no idea where to start.
