What is the difference between and HP Deskjet printer and a HP Photosmart Printer? I need to get a new printer to be compatible with Windows Vista. Right now I have a all in one deskjet, and although I use it to print out documents, I also use it to print pictures. The print quality is ok. Will they come out better with a HP photosmart printer? What is the difference between the deskjet and the photosmart? Speed, quality, etc?

What multipurpose deskjet printer should I buy? I have been looking to buy a multipurpose DeskJet printer to replace a trusty Canon MP730. Basically I want one that prints decent quality photos and documents, have separate ink tanks, and doesn't empty my wallet to change inks. I am looking at Canon, HP, Brother and Epson. How can I get my HP D1460 deskjet printer to connect to 2 pc's at once using an adsl gateway? I have a HP D1460 Deskjet for which i have 2 pc's. (both of these computers share an ADSL gateway). Do you know how to make the HP Deskjet 6840 printer work under Windows 98? I've downloaded the requisite utility from the HP web site, ran it, but no matter what I do, I can't get my Win98 computer to talk to the Deskjet 6840 printer over the network. At best any program trying to utilize the printer hangs. The printer is 100% OK and I used it with Win2k and WinXp boxes with no problem. I did use the "fix" utility I found on the HP site, but the problem is still there. I can ping the printer from the Win98 box and I can access its control screen via the browser.
