Epson thermal printer doesn't print after pc restart? Hi I have an epson TM-T88iiP thermal printer running XP Home SP2. It used to work fine but now I have to switch the printer on and off after a pc restart to start printing. To test the printing I use the dir>lpt1 cmd. I borrowed another epson till slip printer, pluged it in (using same driver) and it works every time. I connected the TM-T88ii to another pc and it printed after every restart. I deleted all the epson drivers from my pc and installed it again. The only magor change to my software is IE8, I had some trouble with that and HP software a while back. Hope you can help. Thanx
POS thermal receipt printer Epson TM-T88IV two-color mode? I just received my POS printer today. I was wondering if anyone else had experience with these printers? Do you know how to change it to 2-color mode? It's currently only printing black. I would like black and red. I know it's capable, I just don't know how to set it. I've looked around on the internet and haven't come up with anything. Thanks in advance.

Point of Sale systems easy to use and cheap? I have been exploring several options for point of sale systems. I am opening up a seasonal store so it doesn't have to be the best possible system although I would like to have the basics like a barcode scanner, credit card reader, and thermal printer. I already have my own computer and monitor. It seems you can't find anything for less that $1500 like Quick Books retail point of sale software. I am not found of quickbooks to begin with. I recently visited a store that used Microsoft Excel along with bluetooth barcode scanners and epson thermal printers. Im wondering if this is something anyone could do or if this sort of thing was done by a computer programmer. I just can't imagine every retail business investing several thousand dollars in there point of sale (checkout) software and hardware systems in order to conduct daily business. Any small business owners PLEASE HELP! Thanks!!!
Best Printer For Printing Track Listings Onto CD-Rs Please? Hi, I would appreciate pointers on this. Internet research seems to produce the following: -Casio and TDK make thermal printers that can print only appx 16 lines. As most CDs average about 20 tracks, this seems dumb! -Other thermal CD printers may allow for more lines to be printed but seem poor for reliability from user reviews. -Epson inkjet printers may take a long time to dry, upto 24 hrs according to some users. Any comments on this? -I have read nothing bad about the Canon iP4200, but would be interested in peoples' experiences...good or bad. -Lexmark seem not to make a printer with CD printing? Seems strange, but I couldn't find mention on their website. -Hewlett-Packard ...as Lexmark Would appreciate any other thoughts you have on this as well! Some people also say that the tray for printing CDs in the Epson is flimsy. Others report no problems. Perhaps a problem now resolved? Any experiences?

How do I print thermal receipts? I have an Epson TM-T88IV thermal receipt printer. I want to use it to print my own receipts, but I can't seem to figure out how to. I have 3 different PCs I could use for it. One using XP, one using Vista (32-bit), and one using Windows 7 Home Premium. I only have the printer and a couple cables. One cable won't fit any of my PCs (LPT1 cable, I think, but the end that fits the PC, also fits the printer, the other end doesn't fit anything I know of), but I had a usb adapter that adapts usb to the phone jack on the back of the printer. With this cable, the XP PC recognizes it as an "Unknown Device", and says it's installed, but does not install a driver for it. Is there a program I can download to do this? How do I get the drivers installed for it? I only need a very simple receipt. Nothing fancy. And, no, I'm not trying to rip anyone off... put simply, it would make my job A LOT easier. Thanks in advance for any help! My old XP computer does have an LPT1 printer port. The problem is that the cable has two different ends. Both the output from the PC and the input on the printer are the same type of plug. So the cable will plug into either the PC or the printer, but not both. I may be able to remedy this with a cable from office depot or something, but I'm really not trying to spend any money on this setup. I'm only borrowing the printer.
EPSON T60 or CANON iP4760 which one better ? I heard that CANON uses "thermal tech", "the ink does not dry up on all papers", "using only canon papers gives superb quality" !! AND EPSON uses "PIEZO tech" , "good quality on all papers", "inks are water resistant", "Refill cannot be done", "Repairing of EPSON printers is very hard" !! I don't know how far these are TRUE ... and I am confused to select one of these two ! Also don't know about cost per ( 4x6 photo) of the two ... Thank you !!
