What is a dot matrix and why is it on the windshields of cars? I recently bought a 2008 VW Jetta and had the car tinted. When I took it in for tint I asked if there could be a strip of tint put at the top of the front windshield; the sales rep said the tint may not go on smooth because there is a "dot matrix". Why is they put dot matrix's on cars?
